Long time listener, first time caller. Big fan, big fan. You remember that time in Gleick&#39;s book The Information where he was talking about how much more energy it takes to forget something than to remember something? That was awesome. I reckon I leverage the google effect to allow myself to forget larger chunks of information - trying to forget a specific pink elephant is hard, but not worrying about whether i remember details about colored animals is a bit easier, and that sloughing of memory frees me up to pay more attention to the current object of obsession, maybe?<br/><br/>Thanks for your analysis, i was having trouble reading this article, and am glad you have distilled it down for me. And you provided a learning moment to boot! Now I can move onto the DFW article/distraction you referenced.]]></description></item></channel></rss>
